5% of all Daily Deal Sites Have an Animal in their Name and Other Stats: Pigsback, CatchTheMonkey

The Deal Map have released some interesting stats on the US Daily Deal Space. Some of the highlights are

  • 80 percent of deals are offered by as few as 20 sources.
  • 70 percent of deals are offered by 10 sources
  • and 40 percent are controlled by Groupon (AKA CityDeal) and Livingsocial.

In Ireland, our data shows that the big two are even more dominant with 70% of the market.

Some US sites with animal names include DealChicken, Rhino Deals, TownHog, Deal Stork, Rabbit Pack, and Rumba Fish.

Never ones to buck the trend, here in Ireland we reckon we are just above the 5% mark with Pigsback and CatchTheMonkey.
